Immersion
Now accepting applications for the Fall 2025 Program
Immersion is a non-partisan professional and leadership development program created by the leadership at MPA, with the purpose of furthering the organization’s goal of improving the region’s quality of life and economic vitality. Professional development, industry focused education and civic engagement are a few of the benefits participants will receive from this program. This is a great opportunity to learn every segment of the business and network with peers and leaders in our industry.
Immersion hosts cohort(s) in which participants expand their knowledge of development in our region and become strong industry and community leaders while cultivating relationships with fellow program participants. What makes this program unique is the approach it takes to education, providing a balanced and comprehensive view of the topics by exploring them from both the public and private sector perspectives. Sessions are interactive, fostering conversation amongst participants, encoring them to engage and take advantage of the opportunity to learn from and interact with industry leaders.
The 2025 program begins on October 17th and continues through December 12th. The six (6) course days start at 11am and conclude at 3:30pm. Lunches will be provided for all course days, and attendees will have the option to attend Alumni hosted happy hours. An on-site tour of a current construction project is also included in the program as one of the course days.

Common Ground Awards
These awards, presented at our annual ceremony, recognize community leaders, projects and events demonstrating collaboration to the overall benefit of the community. Honoring more than 250 projects since 2004, this event sells out annually with more than 400 attendees.
We are currently seeking submissions for our 2025 award winners, submit your application no later than February 14th, 2025 to be considered!
We support MPA and agreed to the 2017 Common Ground Awards title sponsorship because we strongly share the belief that our business community is best served when we work together. Finding common ground isn’t always easy, it’s often though the catalyst for innovation and creative problem-solving.
In my State of the Town Address, I emphasized the importance of community partnerships in building a strong framework for our region. MPA’s Common Ground Award not only recognizes these partnerships, but raises awareness of their value and fosters ongoing collaboration within our community.
Topgolf with Top Officials
MPA’s Topgolf with Top Officials, one of our two signature annual events, brings together the public and private sectors. Enjoy an afternoon of some healthy competition, yummy food and refreshing beverages as you build relationships with important officials and staff members who make the decisions impacting your business! In the land use and development industry it is especially important to know the right decision maker that can help facilitate the development process. This event provides you the opportunity to engage with these important individuals, learn their goals and provide suggestions as to how the public-sector can help the private sector.
MPA’s Top Golf with Top Officials has been a great event for Sunbelt Holdings over the past several years. We wouldn’t miss it. It’s a unique opportunity to spend time with our friends from different municipalities in and around Tucson, strengthening existing relationships and forging new ones. It’s a fun environment outside of typical calls and meetings and we always have a great time!
Lunch and Learn
MPA has launched a new, quarterly program: Lunch and Learn! Each event will be a two hour, in depth, informative panel style presentation and discussion on a timely and relevant topic to the land use and development industry. Each Lunch and Learn will be presented in partnership with another organization, providing greater opportunity for relationship building and expanding the access of information we are able to provide our Members with.

Relationship Opportunities
MPA’s events range in size, providing members the opportunity to interact with a diverse group of business leaders and build relationships. By attending our events, you will have the chance to meet new individuals including elected officials, municipal staff and community leaders in the real estate and land use industry.

Metropolitan Pima Alliance has been one of the best organizations for my professional development. Membership and participation in the board and various committees have helped me form strong professional connections throughout the real estate and development community, which has, in turn, resulted in new clients, friendships, and my personal tribe of people who I can rely upon for advice, referrals, and support.
Cocktails & Connections
Quarterly, on the fourth Thursday of the month, members and nonmembers alike are invited to a member hosted cocktail reception. This event showcases the hosts’ workspace and projects while providing attendees a fun and informal way to make new connections and catch up with old friends. Would you like to be our next Cocktails & Connections host? Contact Emilia!

MPA is a valuable resource for timely and relevant content related to real issues in the development community. We have particularly appreciated the opportunity to interact with a wide range and variety of different stakeholders. MPA events give us the opportunity to understand complex and technical issues that are important to our clients and to our community.

Serving as Chairperson for the MPA Board of Directors has afforded me the opportunity to maximize mentorship opportunities through the many diverse backgrounds of each respective Board member. Those opportunities have pushed me to grow as both an individual and a business owner.
