Committees
MPA’s committees are a member benefit and an excellent way to connect with people and expand networks. Each committee contributes to the sustainability and effectiveness of the organization.
Public Policy Committee
This monthly meeting, taking place on the 4th Tuesday, is a working committee. It is exclusive to MPA members and provides an opportunity for members to get up close and personal with decision-makers on key issues that may affect them. Each meeting starts with a guest presentation and is followed by an update on current policy issues. Reviewed policy and presentations cover topics from the five local jurisdictions: City of Tucson, Town of Marana, Town of Oro Valley, Pima County, and Town of Sahuarita.

MPA’s Common Ground Awards brings together hundreds of developers, landowners, public officials and development related professionals to celebrate the collaboration behind development efforts. Each year numerous projects submit to be considered for the award. The Common Ground Committee selects projects that exemplify complex and unique collaboration throughout the development process. Held at the JW Marriott Starr Pass, the evening is filled with networking opportunities, great food and community celebration.
Common Ground Committee
Our Common Ground Committee, that meets weekly is responsible for judging submitted projects, identifying award finalists and planning the event. This committee is a diverse mix of members, representing different aspects of the land development industry, who are up-to-date on the latest projects taking place in our community.
Wild Ride Planning Committee
Annually, the Wild Ride Committee chooses a region to explore and creates a half-day, interactive seminar in that area. Committee members plan the event including the route and speakers. This committee ensures that this event is not only educational, but also a remarkable relationship building opportunity.

The 2018 Wild Ride took a huge effort to put together so having such a great outcome was incredibly rewarding for the committee. Hundreds of people in the land use industry heard great speakers, toured super cool structures like the ENR building and then topped off the experience with a great happy hour!
Programming Committee:
The Programming Committee is a mix of members plugged into the community who work hard to provide stimulating and educational topics for the monthly breakfasts. Should you have an idea for a breakfast topic, please contact MPA staff.
