Committees
MPA’s committees are a member benefit and an excellent way to connect with people and expand networks. Each committee contributes to the sustainability and effectiveness of the organization.
Public Policy Committee
This monthly meeting, taking place on the 4th Tuesday, in person at 3:30 PM, is a working committee. It is exclusive to MPA members and provides an opportunity for members to get up close and personal with decision-makers on key issues that may affect them. Each meeting starts with a guest presentation and is followed by an update on current policy issues. Reviewed policy and presentations cover topics from the five local jurisdictions: City of Tucson, Town of Marana, Town of Oro Valley, Pima County, and Town of Sahuarita.
Committee Chairs: Becky Gordon, Brian Underwood
Common Ground Committee
Our Common Ground Committee, that meets weekly on Friday Mornings at 9 AM, is responsible for judging submitted projects, identifying award finalists and selecting Member companies to recognize and honor at our annual awards ceremony. This committee is a diverse mix of members, representing different aspects of the land development industry, who are up-to-date on the latest projects taking place in our community.
Committee Chair: Stefanie Thrush
immersion Committee
Composed of immersion program alumni, this Committee plans and executes the annual immersion program; MPA’s non-partisan professional and leadership development program created by the leadership at MPA, with the purpose of furthering the organization’s goal of improving the region’s quality of life and economic vitality.
Committee members, assist in developing the annual program curriculum, secure presenters and recruit program participants. Additionally, they plan events to provide alumni the opportunity to connect to one another, including deep dive days and alumni mixers.
Committee Chair: Keegan Abele
Member Engagement Committee:
Serving as a vital link between MPA Members, staff, and the Board, this Committee meets on the 4th Thursday of the month, at 8:30 AM, in person. They play an active role in engaging with our community by listening to feedback, sharing ideas, and helping shape the future of our advocacy and organizational goals.
The committee helps cultivate meaningful relationships by creating a positive experience for every member. Committee members also help extend MPA’s reach by connecting with non-members who attend our events, inviting them to participate and join our organization. To strengthen relationships and maximize return on membership investments, this Committee welcomes new Members, introducing them to MPA, and help them build connections with fellow members, strengthening the fabric of our alliance.
Committee Chair: Vanessa Martinez
