Who We Are

Our Mission

MPA works to create a prosperous community by promoting collaborative real estate development policies, building partnerships and finding common ground.

In 1997 a small group of individuals came together to discuss the need for an organization, modeled after Phoenix’s Valley Partnership, that could unify individuals to pragmatically deal with development and growth-related issues in Pima County and the Metropolitan Pima Alliance (MPA) was formed. MPA’s focus is to create sensible community planning solutions by encouraging and assembling reasonable and respectful discussion amongst diverse groups and interests. Since its inception, MPA has grown to become an impactful and respected voice in the community. We accomplish this through relationship building.

Unique to the region, MPA is an alliance of business, government and non-profit organizations. MPA’s goals relate to improving our region’s quality of life and economic vitality. Land development is the foundation of economic development and our role in the community is to facilitate dialogue, resulting in balanced residential and commercial land use policies that stimulate economic development and reasonably preserves our natural environment.

Our two signature events, Common Ground Awards Ceremony and Topgolf with Top Officials, bring people together and showcase the positive projects taking place in our community. Topgolf with Top Officials brings together elected Officials, community leaders and the private development community to create and expand impactful lasting relationships, helping projects move with more ease through the public process. Common Ground celebrates projects in the community that have demonstrated collaboration. These projects exemplify the essence of MPA: collaboration between the public and private sector, land development and environmental protections and current residents and the future population.

Candidate Endorsements

MPA is a non-partisan organization. We believe compromise and collaboration are essential to creating responsible and sustainable public policies. For this reason, MPA does not endorse candidates, we strive to achieve common ground amongst all political parties.
